Before you burn me at the stake, hear me out here.
Using HBD to buy the dip
I know everyone is super hyped about the 20% APR on putting HBD in savings. It's definitely a safe place to hold some assets. I'm not going to preach and tell you you need to have HBD in savings or whatever. While I do agree that it's pretty incredible for a stable coin to pay that kind of yield, I think this market dip is an incredible opportunity. May is historically a good month for the crypto space, so maybe it will end that way, but it's off to a rough start.
I think this little bit of a dip that sees ETH below $2,500 and BTC below $34,000 is a great opportunity for the strong hands. Be prepared for a further dip, but I honestly think this is a good accumulation range. I'm personally stacking up on HIVE and LEO. That's my primary goal for right now. In the longer term, sure start stacking some stable coins like HBD.
For me, I'd much rather be exposing more of my portfolio to significantly lower prices for tokens like HIVE, LEO, and even POLYCUB. I am over-stuffing my piggy bank with these 3 tokens. Hell I even picked up some CUB. All liquid HBD that I receive as rewards is going straight into these tokens. POLYCUB recently touched 13 cents and I was able to grab quite a few before they pumped back to the 23 cent range. Just more going into my xPOLYCUB stake, ready for loans.
Even though it has dipped lower today to 5.7 cents, I was able to grab a nice little chunk of CUB yesterday for 6 cents. I feel like it's kind of irresponsible not to grab some CUB cheap. I just keep imagining what might happen with the price of the token when some of the crazy POLYCUB features start getting ported back to it. Now that the POLYCUB airdrop has concluded, there's not a ton of sell pressure there. I think that's why CUB took such a hard dump.
Despite the market dump, I'm throwing money in. I have surpassed 4000 Hive Power which is just another step closer to Dolphin. I'm determined to get there within a couple months. I've surpassed 3500 LEO Power as well. I would have gotten there sooner but I ended up selling some LEO right before it started dipping below 18 cents. I put more into my POLYCUB liquidity positions.
Those LP positions are down a significant amount but I really don't care. This isn't about making money now. This is about growing wealth for the future. It's all about what it can be in 5 years, not what it is right now.
I will continue growing both stacks because at the end of the day, I know I will earn more from curation. Not only am I going to be earning more from curation, but LEO Power is going to also start earning a share of advertising revenue soon. The more you have, the better. Looking further into the future, we might even get an airdrop on our LEO holdings when Project Blank finally becomes a reality.
So that's why I'm not really worried about accumulating HBD. I'd much rather take advantage of the market in a dip with the stable coins I earn right now than lock them in savings. Maybe once the market turns around, my focus will shift back to accumulating HBD. I have a feeling we're in for a little more dip before any kind of recovery though.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Be safe and stay free.
