Matt Furie created Pepe the frog as part of his comic "The Boy's Club". Pepe, a pot-smoking frog who was made famous for his catchphrase "it feels good, man", was co-opted by the alt-right movement in the early 2010s.
Matt Furie finally "killed off" Pepe the Frog in early May 2017 after stating repeatedly that he is not a symbol of hate.
