I tried hard to think about what I hate the most because I'm a pretty open-minded person and I believe that everyone loves or hates something based on their personality and sometimes, I hate something because I don't have much knowledge about it or I'm channeling someone's else experience of that same thing.
But after thinking about it for a while, I finally got my hands on something I really hate a lot and which I believe other people (or most people) also do, and that is a parasitic relationship. What I mean by a parasitic relationship is a situation where one person is taking advantage of another through various means but most of the time it's through emotional manipulation.
For example; when some people notice a person is very kind and generous, they tend to get closer to that person just so that they can take advantage of their kindness and generosity. I have experienced it a lot in the past and it's the main reason why I have become more careful with who I become friends with these days coz a lot of people end up becoming a parasite.
I have always had an encounter with parasitic people but it was when I got to the university that it became a lot worse. Things like this are seen when it comes to group projects or assignments, where the lazy members of the group end up leaving the whole work for the hardworking students and those ones will have no choice but to do all the work because they will fail if they don't.
It's for this reason I usually avoid being the leader of any group project or assignment given at the university. It was only once that I ended up becoming the leader of a certain group project after realizing that we will all fail if I didn't take control of the group. Most of the group members felt they could relax when they realize I became the group leader but I threatened them that if they didn't do their share of the work, I won't include their name in the finished work (and I did just that to two people that didn't contribute).
A parasitic relationship can come in different forms but whatever forms it comes in, I always recognize it and I cut off anybody that exhibits that behavior. I believe in a mutual relationship where the two people involve benefit from each other and one side isn't always giving while the other keeps on receiving. This is why I feel guilty when I keep getting favors from someone and I can't do anything to reciprocate that energy, but I always find the means to show my appreciation.
And that brings me to the final aspect of all these; most of the time it's not about giving back the same worth that you received or forcing yourself to give back even when you don't have but it's about being appreciative. Most of the time I come across people who don't necessarily channel back my energy toward them but one thing I'm very sure of is that I can rely on them when I need help and they also show appreciation for the help I offer them.
But that's not the same for some other people who always feel entitled and don't show appreciation for the things you do for them. They behave exactly like parasites; take what they need without bothering to know about your well-being. They keep taking until there's nothing left, and then they leave when you have been sucked dry. I always run away from people like that and it's one of the things I hate the most in this world.
