More than 320 people have been charged in a massive $14.6 billion health care fraud crackdown, the largest in Justice Department history. The fraud involved false claims, stolen identities of over a million Americans, and schemes run by transnational criminal groups from Russia, Eastern Europe, Pakistan, and more. Authorities seized $245 million in assets, including cash and luxury items. A major $10 billion urinary catheter fraud, called Operation Gold Rush, was part of the takedown. Nearly 100 medical professionals, including 25 doctors, were charged. Officials emphasised that the fraud directly harms American taxpayers and the healthcare system.
