In the US, deaths with Covid were counted as deaths from Covid because of financial incentives to the hospital. That data is being cleaned up at this moment so the death rate can be announced to be much lower and Biden can be crowned as our savior from Covid just in time for the midterm elections.

Also, in the US, it is often more useful to compare death rates by states, since the Covid response varied a great deal state-to-state. New York took a much stricter approach than Florida, for example.
