Hey all!
I just realized this community existed, so I figured I should probably post my #terracore update here. It's been a few weeks since my last update, so I figured it was time to do one and give my latest thinking.
Respectable stats - at least in my opinion. Might need to get my stash size to 690 though 馃槃. I've reached the point where my defense is high enough that there are very few people playing the game who can attack me, and most of them will wind up targeting people with higher engineering than me. So I'm just chilling and collecting SCRAP:
@suggeelson was kind enough to share his code with me. I hadn't seen javascript in ages and had never used node.js, so it was a nice chance to brush off an old skill set and learn something new. I was able to add a tiny bit of code to customize the bot to be more efficient for my situation, and now it handles the attacking and claiming for me. That has been a large driver in the imbalance between my Won/Lost scrap on the battle logs. I'm not losing a ton while I sleep anymore.
Honestly, equally valuable was just being able to see the code of how the bot works. How it creates and broadcasts attack/claim messages to the chain was an excellent source of learning material. I love that this game has upgraded my personal skillset - even if just a bit.
Since I started playing, I've done nothing except re-invest my SCRAP into my stats. That's great, but I can't help but notice the price of SCRAP collapsing faster than my production rate was growing:
It's roughly 1/10th the price of when I got started. I decided now was as good a time as any to pull my original HIVE investment into the game back out. I'm only earning ~2-3 HIVE per day, but I also only had to pay 25-30 HIVE or so to get started in the game. I've already pulled out ~15 HIVE so not much more selling left to do. I'm also not worried about my tiny SCRAP volume plunging the price further. I'm a minnow swimming with whales after all.
Once I've recouped my HIVE, it'll be back to grinding stats. I'm happy to hear about potions and the new ideas for the game. While my original idea was to build up and attack bosses, spending FLUX to gamble with a 5% chance of success doesn't sound like a great move, so I've decided not to focus on that. Instead, I'm having fun climbing the stat charts. I'll probably also try the quest system before bosses. I'm also hopeful that group play/goals (e.g. a guild system) will be introduced. If done well, I think that could add a lot of depth to the game and a whole new set of goals and reasons to play.
Thanks for reading!
