So after 6 months of living here in Florida, I finally got up and drove in time to see the sunrise at Flagler Beach Pier. Yes, it was absolutely worth it. I was quite excited and took literally dozens and dozens of pics. You'll need to open post and scroll through to see them all..
Use full screen to view them for sure!
Not only a fantastic view, but the sounds, the sights of the waves, the birds. Just a wonderful morning that reminds me why we moved here. I took the pics with my new lens. It's the first time I've had this wide lens out, since I usually am usually out with the big zoom lens. These were all shot with the Sony 24-70 GMII lens on my Sony A7RIV camera. I am really liking this lens. It is so much lighter and nicer to carry than that big zoom. The additional low light capacity is also a welcome change. I'll definitely be using it more and more.
Some will be a little dark, the early pre-dawn was incredible in person. I didn't do any photoshop retouching on these, so while some could certainly be improved with a bit of brightness/contrast tweaking, I decided to just show them as-is for today. I hope you enjoy them a fraction of what I did taking them.
And then the Sun came....
And so begins another beautiful November day. I'll be hitting the water later this afternoon.
The Pier was damaged during storm last year and still awaiting repairs. Scheduled for later this year.
