No, not really any kick to it. I've never heard of anyone getting scope bite from an air rifle, but I suppose possible on some. That is usually due to not having the stock planted firmly into the shoulder and also not keeping your face against the stock. Even with larger "real" rifles, those two things should protect against getting bitten.
