Invictus Games, i.e. games for servicemen and veterans injured in missions at home and abroad, started in The Hague on Saturday. British Prince Harry and his wife Megan took part in the opening ceremony, which took place on Saturday evening at the Zuiderpark stadium in The Hague. Prime Minister Mark Rutte especially welcomed the Ukrainian team. "We are with you," the head of the Dutch office told Ukrainian athletes.
The players from Ukraine were greeted with stormy applause. As the Dutch media remind, many of them do not participate in the event because they are fighting against Russia.
Let's show together that unity and solidarity always win over confrontation and conflicts. Sport unites people. This is the essence of the Invictus Games," Rutte said. "Glory to Ukraine," Meghan Markle said.
