☆ THE ONE
For some who may have noticed, I haven't published a post on Hive for close to two weeks. Strange, right? This isn't the Ksam you know, right?
The Ksam you know is the Ksam that would make musical entries in four different musical Communities in a week, participate in the Leo and Hodl contest, participate in Hive Learner's triweekly themes, possibly write some tutorials for Newbies and compile the Contests going on in Hive.
All in one week! With nothing less than 800+ words, and an average of 1,100+ words.
The same Ksam that has the superpower to write up to 6 QUALITY posts in a day if he wants to, but chooses to stick to 1-3.
The same Ksam that sleeps less than 4 - 5 hours a day, and still manages to cope with the world inside and outside Hive with all it's stress.
Well, this is a topic for another day.
☆ SHATTERED DREAMS
The past two weeks was really tough for me and I had no option than to cease writing. Although multi-tasking is my hobby, I had to restrain myself from multi-tasking because if I didn't, I'll create extra problems for myself and I may not like the outcome. Well, I didn't fully obey my laws; this is an experience that I MAY share later.
In as much as I couldn't concentrate or make out time to create and publish a single post, I never stopped being active on Hive for a single day.
Overtime, I have realised that cutting off completely may be far too risky for me to return to same activities or have similar energy for same activities. In other words, if I had decided to leave Hive for 2 weeks, I may find it difficult to be as active as I was. Also, since Hive is always evolving and expanding, I may meet newer updates that may overwhelm me and the thought of surmounting it may weigh me down and take me back to square one (beginning/newbie stage) - who loves repeating a stage? No-one, I think.
This is also natural in life as many of us think we can cope with it, but, in truth, the certainty of coming back and retaining same energy is 50/50. Yes, it is 50/50, there is no guarantee!
Oooo, by the way, the shattered dreams here was that I looked forward to crossing the New year with 2k HP and 70 Rep, but life happens, you know? Heartbreak!
☆ COPING
Since the possibility of retaining same energy isn't guaranteed when one leaves Hive for a long time, I think I found a way to prevent this from happening if one truly desires. Yea, it worked for me and that's why I wish to share this.
💕 Have real Friends on Hive
Remember, at the beginning of our journey on Hive, we were required to introduce ourselves as a way of proving our authenticity and telling others about our humble selves. In the post, many of us use the recurrent expression, "I am here to make friends, build my connection, network, relationship, pursue village people... blah blah blah."
Well...
Do we actually mean those words or we just say them "to fulfil all righteousness"?
Many of us don't really understand what this means. If we do, and we get to create "real friends", then Hive will transcend from being an online platform to a real platform. Thus, having friends with similar goals and mindset becomes a stronger force as compared to flying solo on our quest to make money. This is because we can devise other means of "making money," possibly more beneficial than Hive in the present moment. When this happens, Hive becomes inconsequential to us. However, having friends with similar goals can be a stronger reason to keep us even after we have achieved "total financial freedom" (if that is ever possible).
💍 Have real commitment to Communities or Events
Having real commitment to Community activities and various events on Hive can motivate one to always check up current information, performance or activities in such events. This is bound to happen when one has either invested or sacrificed much time, energy, hope or finance for the progress of such events.
It could also happen when one sees the event as a fun-filled activity. For instance, amidst my busy schedules, I did not miss the Hive Buzz World Cup event even for a day. I always checked Hive Buzz profile to see whether a new match fixture has been released (lol). Similarly, I have also been fully active in making plans for the Afri-tunes Christmas Event and I'm happy to see that it's going well.
📱 See Hive as a Social Media
Yes, we all know that Hive is a social media but much more different from our regular social media (Facebook and the likes) because of its higher benefits. However, most of us fail to see it as a "real social media."
You know, at some points in our lives we may be so busy with activities, however we may have few moments to just scroll on to Facebook to Check trending news, TikTok to watch some funny videos, Twitter to check the nearest violence, or WhatsApp to check important messages...etc.
Why not go to Comedy Open Mic to laugh off the stress and ease tension?
Hive Open Mic or Afri-tunes to listen to and watch some cool music by awesome musicians?
Hive Learners to read about people's experiences and perspectives on different themes?
Or check up those amazing or creative authors to see what you've missed?
Hive can also come in here, you know?
☆ BEING PRACTICAL
Although this may be a difficult quest, one thing you must realize is that you mustn't create a post if you don't want to.
I am always active on Facebook but the last time I made a Facebook post was on December 27, 2021. Similarly, I am always active on WhatsApp but the last time I posted on my status or changed my profile picture was in May 2022.
In other words, not posting doesn't mean I cannot read other people's posts and comment, it also doesn't mean that I cannot chat with my close friends or make newer friends.
In the same way on Hive, you can leave the creators to keep doing the awesome work while you keep yourself entertained and marvelled at their works.
You can keep building your engagement, keep connecting and making friends, or keep building your portfolio. You mustn't wait till you are totally free before you come back to Hive. Can you ever be totally free?
If you can be busy and still chat on WhatsApp and Facebook once in a day, at least, try to do the same on Hive.
