Welcome to week 145 of Open Mic, you guys are just smashing it lately - like seriously I struggle way to much of late, so many great entries from absolutely brilliant musicians.
You guys have made it such a pleasure to be back with you all again, this is why I missed you all - so much bloody great music, who doesn't need this in their lives?

1st Place -

Ohhh man I just adore this song, you performed it so bloody brilliantly I just had to put you in first this week - you are absolutely right this song is no easy feat, there is almost a constant disconnect from the rhythm of the music to the melody (they influence each other but together they fill in the space completely).
In truth I think it is what helps make this song so stunning in itself, the music and the melody are coupled intrinsically together - they both require the other to feel complete, not to mention the constant build in the song it feels like it will always just keep getting bigger.
I also really like the style you have chosen to take with it, you give it an almost rock feel at times but kept the depth of the emotion - you have some serious power behind those vocals and seem to easily tap into it when you need, I am so used to the super high notes it was really interesting to hear a version keeping a lower range.
Stylistically it was unique and that added so much to such a classic song, it is hard to cover a song like this and make it seem new or your own - but you absolutely did this and did it with great skill and precision, I absolutely loved every moment of that performance and hope to see more soon :D

Oh Fergus my man it has been too long since I heard one of your brilliant performances man, you really shine with this style of music - I just love it the energy and feel, it's contagious and you can't help but get caught up in the moment you create.
I love hearing you with extra accompaniment, not to mention you smashing it out on that bodhran - your vocals just click with this style of delivery and I absolutely adored it, I also love seeing you out performing in public :D
You have such a great depth and tone to your voice, when you sing songs you really feel a connection with - you really do take things to a whole new level, I just love being able to see and hear so thanks as always :D
3rd Place -

Now I don't know if it's something primal or what, but this song just gives me chills and man the way you played it just took it to a whole other level for me - this was absolutely brilliant, you added so much extra texture and flare it's brilliant.
I don't normally go for instrumentals, but when they take things like Greensleeves and make into an intrinsic and mesmerizing masterpiece - I have no choice but to take notice, you have just made this amazing song even more epic.
Just an all round brilliant performance, not a single note out of place - you really captured and enhanced the feel of this song and I absolutely adored what you have done with it, I honestly couldn't stop listening to it and I would love to hear some more and soon!
4th Place -

Wow man you have some truly incredible pipes there mate, that was just incredible in every single way - your playing as always was perfection, but as you know by now I am sold on vocals and man you didn't let us down.
That was just absolutely breathtaking, you have this velvety depth to your tone - so pure and exquisite, then you hit those high notes and it's truly like hearing transcendence.
Your talent and skill is just phenomenal, you have some incredible range and control my friend just splendid - now cause last time you were happy with my recommendations, I thought I might offer some more.
Of course it was technically perfect but I noticed again it's the super high (and I will note not too many guys can get that high, let alone control it so well) notes that seem to require your focus the most - your body language changes as you prepare, prep is good but my biggest suggestion would be relax.
Let your shoulders fall, try not to stretch the throat forward (we singers tend to do this if we are too closed off, big high notes require a lot of space and air to produce) - re-watch your own entry and see if you spot what I do, being aware and prepping your mind before it comes will help you smash those notes with even less effort on your part, if you notice you feel the urge to turn to the side or adjust posture, try and pull your tongue down to allow the extra space required to easily hit the note.
As always I adored every moment of that piece, you have exceptional skills and talent - you never cease to impress me and I always look forward to hearing more <3

You are such a fantastic story teller, using music as your medium you absolutely demand focus the instant you start - just another amazing entry, performed so beautifully it just drew me in completely.
The music has almost a skip a beat feel, there's a happy hopefulness trickled throughout - coupled with your hauntingly crystal clear vocals is just mesmerizing, I just couldn't get enough.
Your vocals really just steal the show, you have fantastic range and control - I am so in love with those almost harmonic high notes you splash throughout, just divine lovely absolutely brilliant.
Also total face palm moment here, but... are you Australian? Saw the teamaustralia tag and now wondering are you a secret Aussie O_O lol, if so that is freakin awesome please let me know (so we can claim ownership of you lol, yes I live under a rock).

Open Mic's New Discord Server:
I'd like to officially welcome you all to the new Open Mic Discord server, we have been open a little while now - with many of you having already joined.
But it's still a little quiet and I blame myself partly (I didn't know the world of crazy would set in just after opening it up and I just haven't been there to engage with everyone properly or promptly), I hope to remedy this in the coming weeks and months with some big plans we have in the works.
For now it's very hush hush, as plans are finalised and things evolve - you a can be sure you guys will hear all about it.
In the meantime however, there are heaps of amazing musicians already on there - it's a tool and you guys need to use it to get full advantage.
Ask a question, request a collaboration the world is yours - hell even just go in there and play around listening to some tunes in the jukebox room!
