We were chained and in darkness we sat. Though our eyes saw no chain our feet and hands felt binded. We sat in darkness though it was a sunny day and the door was wide open; Yet we couldn't go out. Our captor we knew not. Who had captured us we earnestly wondered. Who is it? we yelled but no response came.
Finally, we shut our eyes to think in solitude. As we thought, we realised, we were the architect of our captivity. Our captor is no other than "FEAR".
Yes! We were our own captors. Through fear we captured ourselves and binded our feet and hands with an invisible chain. Though the door is open and life has lot of good opportunities; due to fear we stop ourselves from even stepping out. We fear we will fail thus we don't try, We fear, people are out there to get us, we fear, we are not good enough and others are much better, we fear to love, we even fear our villages and our own shadows, we fear and tag activities as too hard even before we attempt them. Thus we fail before we even try. Out of fear we run when nothing is chasing us, and in the end we stumble and cause our own downfall.
Friends, our greatest enemy is fear. It lives within us and is very parasitic to us. It's the greatest reason we lie. Yes! We lie and live in denial for we fear the truth and its consequences. Thanks to fear, we don't leave our comfort zone and try new things. Causing us to limit ourselves and lose so many great opportunities. Out of fear we become timid and end up making stupid mistakes and settling for less.
If a man wants to be successful he must leave fear behind; pick up courage and chase his dreams. Ensuring he never let fear to limit him.
Heroes and cowards are all humans. Their difference is that, heroes face their fears but cowards submit to it. Which are you?
