I almost forgot about this part of my story.
I think my life is perfect…not in the way that most people define perfection, but in the way that I do (and believe me, my standards are quite high). I have this growing career and awesomely packed life with an amazing rainbow-lit future.
It has not always been this way though. Did you know I got bullied a lot while growing up? Shocking????!!! I know right? Well it is the truth. You see, my weakness has always been my belief in humanity. I had this believe that everybody was good, and so far as you were good to them, it guaranteed they would be good to you too.
I grew up in what a typical Nigerian would call a FAMILY HOUSE, note; family house is boldly capitalized!!! It was like a community of villagers with the excuse of even the tiniest blood connection lived in our home. Every day was this new potpourri of faces. Ones of which I still can’t remember a handful up until now. So, it wasn’t surprising that I warmed up to accommodating people.

My first instance of being bullied was as early as primary one; with a girl whose name I still have a hard time spelling…lol… but that is story for another day… So I got over being bullied and graduated to “people using my head.*(Nigerian phrase which means being naïve)
Today, I love who I have become because although there are people who are going to always be unsatisfied with who I am, I discovered that being bullied and used taught me to build myself to the woman I wanted to be, it taught me that I could watch others beat me or I could fight for what I wanted. Being bullied didn’t make me any less of me, it made me recognize who I am, and understand humanity better. I didn’t give the excuse that humanity was hurting me and so I had to hurt them back. Maybe being bullied was what I needed to stand up for the weak ones. I think being bullied made me a celebrity; it is part of my top-notch inspirational writer success story.
