Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 222 Edition 02 of our Weekly Featured Content.
Made With Canva
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week, which is “SEX CRIMES”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “PUNISHMENTS”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us their thoughts on punishments and how many people who intentionally committed crimes were not really discouraged by them. Many people go ahead to commit grievous crimes, knowing that the punishment for it could be life imprisonment or even a death sentence.
We got to see that if the threat of capital punishment can’t deter some people from a life of crime, then nothing else will. Thankfully, a majority of the population actually fears going to prison, and as a result, only a fraction of the population is actually locked up. This was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w222e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
IS PUNISHMENT THE SOLUTION? by @michupa
For this author, he told us that when someone commits a crime, they should face the punishment for that crime. Maybe the punishments themselves are not the problem, but there needs to be a study for people to find out why exactly they don’t seem to be working. Prevention and rehabilitation would be the best bet for solving crimes all over the world.
THE UNREDEEMABLE by @emrysjobber
*For this author, he told us that the world has made it easy for many people to escape punishment. From being able to afford lawyers to using technology, or the lack of it, to their advantage in committing a crime. Many commit crimes knowing that they just might be able to game the system. And the innocents suffer for it.”
THE REAL REASONS CRIME PERSISTS DESPITE PUNISHMENTS by @vickoly
This author told us that once the corruption in the justice system is fixed, once criminals are punished fully for their crimes without using any clandestine means or relying on connections to avoid justice, then, people will be more inclined to be wary of crimes because they know that punishment will be swift and sure.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (

But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
Honorable Mention
PUNISHMENT WORKS FOR EVERYONE by @intishar
IF PUNISHMENTS WORK WHY DOES CRIME CONTINUE? by @nkemakonam9
BEYOND PNISHMENT: UNDERSTANDING THE ROOTS OF CRIME by @zoe01
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
AND NOW, WE MOVE ON TO THE NEW TOPIC!
Week 222 - Edition 02 Topic
SEX CRIMES
“Should perpetrators of sex crimes be allowed to see their own children? Especially when their crime was majorly against children and minors. If they've served their time and have been released from prison, regardless of how much they've changed or how much better they've become, should they still be allowed close to their own children? Or any children at all? What are your thoughts on this?”
