Gradually grow a small of a few different vegetables in my home garden bit by bit.
Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. Today is another busy day taking care of my autistic son at home. Even though he’s in a better mood than the past few days, his autism and inability to communicate with others mean his emotions can be highly unpredictable. He could get frustrated and harm himself at any moment, so my wife and I have to watch over him very closely. That said, I still manage to find some time in my home garden to gradually grow a small variety of vegetables. A few days ago, I told you about my plan to grow yardlong beans to sell at the local fresh market. I have already harvested several mature, dry, light-brown pods to save their seeds for future planting. And my plan is to grow them in my longan orchard, which is located about 600 meters away from my home. However, before doing that, I would like to grow some yardlong beans at home garden first for our own consumption—either to eat fresh or to cook for my family. For growing yardlong beans in the home garden, I intend to use the seeds from just a single mature pod, which alone contains 20 seeds. This time, I will grow yardlong beans by first starting them as seedlings in 4-inch plastic pots.
In addition to long beans, I am also planting spinach and coriander this time. Since this is my first time growing spinach, I decided to test it in plastic baskets first. I am using two plastic baskets for this trial. If successful, I will plant them in the garden bed next. I ordered the spinach seeds online, and each plastic bag contains about 50 seeds.
Regarding the coriander, I sowed the remaining seeds from my last online purchase directly into the soil. I planted a large amount, which was quite time-consuming. Due to being in a rush, I unfortunately did not take any photos of the planting process this time. Whenever I have some free time, I plan to gradually grow my own vegetables for cooking. I’ll also be keeping a journal of my gardening journey right here in my posts. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
