Chainsaws and Hee Haws...
Long as I can remember there have always been chainsaws in my life. I grew up on a dairy farm of several hundred acres, with 48 head of dairy heifers in northern Pennsyl-Tucky.(usa)

Firewood was harvested year round. It was the only heating source and also cooking was done with wood fired stoves/ovens.
I learned to use a chainsaw at a very young age. I do believe it was around 11-12 years old when I was given my first lesson and tree to cut. My father was an ace with a chainsaw. And we stacked many cords of cut wood by his hands. The splitting was no fun back then. As we did not have a hydraulic splitter. All the wood had to be split by swinging a heavy sledge hammer like wedge called a splitting maul. Many handles were broken. And blistered hands were made.
Today's Firewood Harvesting...
My splitting rig is not quite as fast as that fully automatic, just add a log, cut/split rig. But I no longer swing that deadly, heavy, blister causing maul.

If I had to guess how many hours and days I have spent chainsawing..? It would be in the thousands...
I have never been annoyed at the sound of a chainsaw. But I have had many headaches and numb hands from too many hours of cutting.

In 2016 when I was sidelined for 3 months, put out of business by a drunk driver. I used those three months to do many projects here at The Pookyville Cat Ranch in North Florida. (usa)
One of those project was to turn a room of our ranch house into an exclusive, catified sanctuary for our fur kids to play in...
The Cat Tree...
It just so happens that one of the 200+ cedar juniper trees that I planted on our Ranch back in 1996/98, A Cat Ranch that is also a tree farm, that tree took a lightning strike and was dying. Now most people know that cedars not only smell wonderful, They are also bug resistant. So the mortally wounded cedar was cut to a height of 8 foot to match the ceilings here in the ranch house.
At that time, with the tree, I was telling my wife 
Now how in thee HELL can I get this cat tree inside the house.!?
I had cat helpers, cat supervisors, and a cat-a-tonic state of mind. Krazzy is what they call me.
This was the hardest part of the whole build. Getting that monster of a cat tree inside. All the rest was a blast. It was great therapy and helped heal my broken heart and fractured mind from a really hard hit I took from that drunk driver.

The bruised ribs from the seatbelt just had to heal on their own. That was painful and hurt for over a month. The Catification Room really was therapy. And all the cedar was cut with a chainsaw.
From the rope bridge, to the table legs. Shelving, etc. The chainsaw shavings were even boxed up and to this day. 5 years later are still freshening that room and making it Smell like cedar.

We still burn wood in the fireplace here at the ranch. Only a few months out of the year. And only when we are in the mood for it. Long gone are the days of having to burn. It is now when wanting too burn.
The Chain Saw M̶A̶S̶S̶A̶C̶R̶E̶ Nightmare...
When We bought this Ranch and Tree Farm. We did so in part because of a huge southern live oak tree. In 2005 when back to back hurricanes flooded the area around this monster live oak tree. The ground around the tree roots softened, and it split into three pieces under its own massive weight. That tree measured nearly 20 feet around the trunk and took me nearly 2 years to clean up. 5 used and then worn out wasted chainsaws later, I added another section to our pond, doubling its size. Other Famous Live Oak Trees, in this area, that size nearby are estimated at over 350 years old. I had spent many days working on and around this tree. We jokingly called it the Swiss Family Briggs Tree. After that Disney Movie called the Swiss Family Robinson.
