I was on the Telegram chat group complaining about the unfair matchmaking in the Devikins game and then I got this idea of writing a blog about it, here on Hive. My first thought is if I should blog about it, it could be a very long post because the game itself has complex ideas about gaming, NFTs and Crypto, not to mention the history of the game itself.

I just want to write, so I'll make it as short as possible, covering the most important aspects of the game. Also, I will mention some tips and ideas for someone just wanting to jump ahead to the game.

This is the game's interface. As you can see, it looks complex. Each word can be tapped, directing you to the different aspects of the game.

I drew a circle on the top left of the picture. Its show lvl 75. This only refers to the players' level in the game. I'm playing this game since it became available. That's why I reached that level. Players who have level 65+ are considered veterans. But, it doesn't mean you are a strong player and earn a lot in this game. Being a strong player and being competitive enough is all about the Devikins, Items and Weapons you have, which are all NFTs that can be traded in the game's Marketplace, especially now that the phase 2 of the game is currently live.

Very Short History

As I recall, the game started in December of 2021 in the Beta phase for those who bought and mined Devicoin (DVK), which are called Early Adapters, but the Devikins (Nft) itself were already available on the shop 🔗that year. The game became open to all in the year 2022 and then released updates from time to time. The best update is the in-game Marketplace, in which you can buy and sell Devikins and training items within the game. This was Phase One, which was all about preparation for Phase Two (Combat), which is currently live.

In Phase One, we trained Devikins to increase their attributes, we did daily chores and procreated Devikins to increase our roster. In return, we earn DVK every week for playing the game.

Phase Two of the game, which began on April 21, is all about combat. Now, Devikins will see some action, battling the Story Mode, PVP (Player vs Player) and vs. AI. It also introduced weapons and equipment for Devikins.

Currently, Devikins is in Early Access, combining Phase 1 and 2. All progress in the current game will be carried over to the full release in June this year.

is the games' currency used in Marketplace. A Crypto which is also traded on some Exchange.

All the information, mechanics and roadmap of the game is there. It is very important to read and also ask in chat rooms about games before anything else.

You need Devikins...

Though the game itself can give you up to 6 free Devikins, it is just a Dummy which cannot be traded nor procreated. But actually, you can already earn some DVK with these free Devikins by doing chores in the game. In the current game, I tested that Dummy kin can also be used in combat.

Buy the strongest Devikins, Weapons, Equipment...

The Eldritch with perfect 10s affinities is assumed to be the strongest. It has an Overall Affinity(OA) of 50 but it is very expensive. You can get an Eldritch through procreation and in the marketplace.

PvP combat has three leagues:

Unlimited - Any 4 Devikins

Pauper - All Devikins are strictly common only. Devikins with OA 29 or less

100 Cap- Any Devikins with a sum of 100 OA only (ex. You can use two Eldritches having an OA of 50 each ( 50+50=100).

In Story Mode and Vs. AI, you can use any Devikins. Deriving from this, you also need Common Devikins to compete in the Common league. Any current player wants the best weapons and equipment. There are common, uncommon, rare,mythic and eldritch tags, of which the latter is the best.

Buy inside the games' Marketplace...

Lucky for new players, Devikins, also DVK, prices have gone down dramatically compared to the time I first bought my Devikins. I think it is because inflation kicks in through the game's economy because of the player's procreating Devikins, increasing its supply. I once saw a Mythic Devikins with OA 45 just under 15,000 DVK posted. It sold very quickly though. The best weapons and equipment are flooding the marketplace as of now, but the prices seem high for me or maybe I just can't afford them. 😅

The current game can be expensive for newbie players just to play it, but with the right advice from experienced players, you spend only on the most important aspect of the game, thus maximizing earnings in the long run.
