We’re on a pile of rocks. The rocks heat up to an even higher temperature. No, I haven’t tried frying an egg on those rocks.

We work with great enthusiasm and don’t feel the fatigue. I’ll tell you where we are. This place is called Sytno. We’re a short distance from the town of Stříbro. (Stříbro means ‘silver’ in English.)

Je nás tu ještě víc. Radostně vykřikujeme při zvlášť pěkných nálezech, vzájemně si je ukazujeme, radíme si, půjčujeme si nářadí. Ukazujeme si fotografie svých nálezů na mobilních telefonech.
Kolem poledne jsme opravdu vyčerpaní, zmoření sluncem a hladoví. Rozloučíme se. Třeba se zas někdy někde sejdeme.

Sometimes I might share photos of our finds. I just wanted to say that I’ve realised that nothing makes a person work as hard as their own inner motivation. If this weren’t actually fun, a pastime, nobody would ever do it.
A co se tu dá nalézt? Hlavně zajímavé krystaly křemene, dále galenit, sfalerit, pyrit, pyromorfit, cerusit ... A druhotné minerály.
Někdy se třeba podělím o fotografie našich úlovků. Chtěl jsem teď jen napsat, že jsem si potvrdil, že nic nepřinutí člověka tak tvrdě pracovat, jako jeho vnitřní motivace. Kdyby tohle nebyla vlastně zábava, kratochvíle, nikdy nikdo by to nedělal.
Addendum. That nine-year-old boy was a far better collector and prospector than I am (at 60 years old). He knew how to facet (trim) finds, had better eyesight, was more agile, and was probably more enthusiastic, too.

Pro českého čtenáře. Vedle slovenského Sitna existuje i české Sytno. A těch Syten a Siten je po slovanských zemích ještě víc. Etymologicky je původ pojmenování velmi nejistý, nicméně hodně starý ... Ale do #worldmappin by bylo zařazení téhle haldy trochu málo.
