TOURNAMENT PRIZE AND DETAILS

The tournament is called Beginner's Tournex X Giveaway #13 and was created by z3ll@z3ll. This tournament is catered to beginners, especially in the bronze and low silver leagues. With an entrance fee of 75DEC, and if you place 15 or higher your entrance fee will be back to your account, and the winner will take 300 DEC. There will be also a giveaway for LIRA THE DARK and others, which will be given randomly. So even if you don't win, as long as you are lucky or placed at 15 or higher there will be no cost.

MY ROUND 1 RESULT

I have a successful round 1, winning 10 games out of 11, which is very similar to my previous tournament. And made it in the top 3.

ROUND 2 RESULT

And on the second day of the tournament, I did very badly. Only winning 4 of my games.

GAMES

ROUND 1 GAME - WIN

This is a game from round 1. First, the only available splinters were Fire and Earth, and an Equalizer and Lose magic rulesets. The first thing that I thought of is, that we will both go for Fire splinter, and wanted to counter that. Therefore, I need a monster that will be able to tank in the first and last position, which is why I went for ANTOID PLATOON in the first position for his ability and with the ruleset boosting his HP, and LAVA LAUNCHER for the last position since he has a 6 armor that would make him live long enough, for my damage dealing monsters to kill his backline monsters.

ROUND 2 GAME 1 - LOSE

Like in my previous post with low mana cost, I went for quantity over quality in this game. I did not expect the enemy to go for SEA MONSTER, I forgot that this monster is one of the most used monsters in the bronze league tournaments, and the Enrage ruleset made him more powerful while healing the damage. Even if my first position monster lived, I will still lose the game.

ROUND 2 GAME 2 - LOSE

In this specific game, I went for full melee damage with Sneak and Opportunity monsters and boosted them with an Inspire ability. Intending to kill the enemy backline as soon as possible. However, the enemy predicted it, and countered my lineup. He has a very solid lineup, almost all of his have 4 speed and picked a CREEPING OOZE which made my monsters slower, that made his monsters faster than mine, his last position monster is a great counter with my Sneak having a high HP and + armor from the summoner, made it impossible to kill in the first round.

RESULT

Despite being in the top three on the first day of the event, I finished 23rd.

AFTERTHOUGHT

I lost many games because I was not prepared and lack of research, I did not study my opponents' lineups and the current meta. Even though I lost 75 DEC and did not play well. this tournament is a good experience for me. It showed me my weakness and what to improve.
This loss motivated me, I will be joining other tournaments and keep improving.
