Had an easy day yesterday, after Saturdays brutality. Went to an interesting museum built around the grand tour theme. How in the late renaissance, a lot of students and rich individuals traveled to Italy. Their aim was to explore the ancient monuments and culture of the Romans/Greeks. This created a whole new industry to cater, and was really the first sophisticated tourist machine.
You had artists creating precise replicators in miniature form.
The picture is off a classic Milano apartment block. I really love the decorative style, and the open courtyards within the centre of each.
