────────────◈◉◈────────────
" By the light of the full moon, I first walked upon the sundered lands as a faceless brother of the Black Sign, my life as an uncloaked all but forgotten.
With glittering siphilum coursing through my veins, I saw the first shadows cast by new eyes, and my heart was full.
I had survived the transmutation and was eager to don my cloak and gauntlets, symbols of the trials I faced to take this form...and the perils of the coming Doom. "
- Magi Necrosi
────────────◈◉◈────────────
Magi Necrosi is an underrated card and isn't being used a lot but I think he has the potential to increase the power of Death as long as he would be given a chance to shine. He excels in high mana as he can abuse his camouflage but also works on lower mana. Due to his magic damage, even if he's the only unit on your field, he can still attack making the camouflage ability, the best for this unit.
In desperation, the acolytes of Azdurj sought forbidden tomes, long sealed beneath their tower. By the candlelight of hidden recesses within their tower's crypt, the first Necrosi were born. Forged to battle the spawn of Chaos, these bounty hunters are eager to take up the fight.
| For an epic unit, I think Magi Necrosi is very affordable. You can get one at $0.35 which you can use for your games. |
| The price of the golden Magi Necrosi is quite high so I suggest renting it. On the other hand, the rental price for Gold Magi Necrosi is quite affordable so instead of renting the regular one, just go with the level 2 Gold Magi Necrosi for 1.19 DEC per day. |
| Magi Necrosi's stats are good. He has 2 magic damage, 4 speed and 4 health. For a 6 mana unit, this is okay. He is not strong to win the game by himself but good enough to make an impact. |
Snipe |
This ability is very strong with Magi Necrosi considering his attacks can pass through armor. Your opponent cannot protect their rear with using Protect ability since magic damage passes through armor.
Camouflage |
Magi Necrosi has very low health. With the high damage that the units have, Magi Necrosi can be a good target for one or two Opportunity units and then he's dead. Fortunately, Camouflage prevents this from happening as he cannot be targetted by attacks unless he's in the front.
Oppress |
Oppress is another strong ability for Magi Necrosi because of two reasons. For the first reason, since Protect does not help in protecting the rear, you can use units with no damage placed behind the front to block Sneak attacks. You can also use a range or magic damage unit but their health are normally low so they are not good blockers. For the second reason, since your opponent will block with unit without attacks, they the increased damage from Oppress can help that area of overcoming the blocker placed behind the front.
Stun |
This ability is good against opponents with Taunt, Tank Heal, and Repair. Since Taunt units will take the attack from Magi Necrosi, there's a big chance that they will be stunned skipping its next turn. A unit that skipped his turn cannot use their abilities and that is why it is good against units with Tank Heal and Repair.
| Magi Necrosi gets both Snipe and Camouflage at level 1. These are strong abilities protecting him from damage while allowing him to damage the important targets. His magic damage is also very strong when combined with Thaddius Brood's -1 health ability. Since magic damage damages the health instead of armor, the -1 health is as good as increasing the damage of mage units. |
| Magi Necrosi relies on his Camouflage a lot for protection. In rule sets that damages him, he's very weak and almost unplayable. With the 6 mana, he's also not that good on low mana battles. If you include Thaddius Brood, that's already a 10 mana team. For mana lower than 20 that you need to fill up, it's better to use three 2 manas than one 6 mana to scatter the opponent's damage. |
Back to Basics |
I said that Magi Necrosi relies a lot on abilities and this kind of contradicts that. However, if you think about it, this rule set protects him as well as long as you put Magi Necrosi at the very back. Without abilities, your opponents would also not have Sneak or Snipe or anything that targets other units other than the front.
Explosive Weaponry |
Since Magi Necrosi targets the middle part most of the time, then you can get a lot of damage dealt with this rule set. He also has a high speed so Magi Necrosi's attack would come first and possibly eliminating opponent's units before they can act.
Wands Out |
Since you can only use magic attacks in this rule set, you should always add Magi Necrosi in your team since he has one of the highest magic damage in Death.
Aimless |
My Magi Necrosi was a victim of Scattershot ability quite a few times. Since Scattershot does not target directly, the camouflage also doesn't work and he may get hit if your luck is bad for that game.
Counterspell |
Due to Magi Necrosi's high damage and low health, opponent's Magic Reflect will kill him in around 2 turns.
Weak Magic |
This isn't as bad as the last one but since the armor can block the magic damage, your opponent would just use Protect ability and it would ruin your strategy with Magi Necrosi.

Using two Snipe units, I was able to take care of Goblin Psychic really immediately. This impacted the game very much as if the opponent was able to heal either of his two tanks, I would've lost this game.
Since Goblin Psychic has 3 health, Thaddius Brood reduces it to 2 and then Magi Necrosi's magic damage allows him to take care of Goblin Psychic on his first attack.
