Ode to the Deer
A Sonnet
by kpd
My streamline deer, you inspire me to write.
How I hate the way you bark, sting and hunt,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the common front.
Let me compare you to a nonmember?
You are more amazed, unfazed and shiny.
Crazed frost nips the robins of December,
And wintertime has the gentle viney.
How do I hate you? Let me count the ways.
I hate your briny eyelashes and legs.
Thinking of youreyelashes fills my days.
My hate for you is the freshwater meggs.
Now I must away with a spiny heart,
Remember my cold words whilst we're apart.
