                                Ode to the Vampire

                                A Sonnet
                            by kpd

My mean vampire, you inspire me to write.
I hate the way you flap, paddle and flap,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the black asap.

Let me compare you to a mortal pie?
You are more awful and more terrific.
Dire drought dries the oddpicnics of July,
And summertime has the hieroglyphic.

How do I hate you? Let me count the ways.
I hate your wry fingers, fingers and toe.
Thinking of your bad fingers fills my days.
My hate for you is the sarcastic glo.

Now I must away with a funny heart,
Remember my sick words whilst we're apart.
