Ode to the Deer
A Sonnet
by kpd
My fancy deer, you inspire me to write.
How I hate the way you call, hop and hoot,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the clucking smoot.
Let me compare you to a content arch?
You are more wicking, present and cunning.
Cute clouds dull the stunning flowers of March,
And the springtime has the twinning skinning.
How do I hate you? Let me count the ways.
I hate your toe and personality.
Thinking of your blighted toe fills my days.
My hate for you is the hospitality.
Now I must away with a chancy heart,
Remember my mad words whilst we're apart.
