“ My Failure with My First NFT”
I wanted to try to make an NFT (Non- Fungible Token) with my artwork and failed! Phew... It was basically impossible to fix after contacting the technical support team. So, I decided to write my failure story of my first NFT.
I researched some and downloaded a wallet, sent some Ethereum, and minted my artwork on Rarible. However, the minting processed successfully but my artwork didn't show up on the site. A broken image like above was shown for a long time. This means I couldn’t put it up for sale. I read it is a common issue. Therefore, I contacted their support team.
Their answer was they couldn’t do anything about my issue. I have to just burn the broken image from their site. Hmm... I lost over $100 immediately! Such a shocking thing!
Anyway, I think I had a lot of reasons to fail from the process. For example, my artwork image size was probably too big. Also, the timing in which I was minting and processing the image was bad. It was the weekend. Furthermore, the processing time was very slow almost a few hours. I double-clicked accidentally. It means I tried to process it twice. It charged me double. Additionally, it charges me to register my artist name, and profile. I didn’t know about that and my wallet is running out of crypto currency. Then, everything stopped.
This is a totally new world for me. I want to try someday in the future again but I have to recover from the shock! I need to study more before doing that again!
“はじめてのNFT失敗談”
アート作品でNFT (非代替性トークン) 作りに挑戦したかったのでやってみたところ、失敗に終わりました。サポートに問い合わせたところ、どうしようもないとのことだったので、失敗談を書くことにしました。
下調べをして、ウォレットからイーサリアムを送金し、アート作品をRarible（ラリブル）に投稿するためにミンティングしました。ミンティング過程は成功したのですが、アート作品の画像がRarible（ラリブル）上に反映されませんでした。上のように壊れた画像のマークが画面上に表示されている状態がずっと続いていました。これでは売りに出すことができません。そこで、サポートチームに連絡をとりました。
結果は、どうにもならないとの回答でした。壊れた画像のマークを消すためには、手数料を払ってサイト上から消せばよいとのことでした。あっという間に$100ドル以上が消えました。ショック！
失敗の理由はいくつかあるようです。多分私の使用した画像サイズが大きかったのだと思います。ミンティングした時間帯が週末というのも悪かったようです。それから、ミンティングの時間が異常に長く、数時間程かかったため、画面を２度触ってしまったのも良くなかったようです。２回ミンティングしたことになってしまい、その分手数料を加算されたようです。更に、アーティスト名やプロフィール登録にも手数料がかかるのを知らずに何度も編集しようとして、その間も加算され、結局ウォレットの通貨が足りなくなりすべてが止まってしまったのだと思います。
まだまだわからない世界です。ショックから立ち直ったらまたチャレンジしたいと思いますが、もう少し研究してからにします。
