Hurricane Night ハリケーンの夜
Phew!!! Finally, I got my usual life back. I experienced the hurricane named Dorian. Dorian came up from Florida, USA and moved to the Nova Scotia, Canada area last Saturday. We all had warnings and were advised to prepare for at least three days. I prepared food, water, cooking tools and candles. Sounds like preparing for camping. It was actually but with a little bit of fear.
I experienced a few natural disasters in Japan before but this hurricane was my first time. I felt like I was I n a noisy airplane. I heard nobody died from Dorian in Nova Scotia. However, we lost power for two or three days and some people are still having difficulty with power. Actually, my internet connection is still unstable.
I thought and planned about off grid life more with my husband this time because we were planning to have a half off grid lifestyle little by little. We really felt for sure this time. I recently moved to a small house with a lot of wild plants and garden so I hope I can write about it!
I heard typhoons and natural disasters are affecting some countries. I hope everybody is safe.
やっと、普通の暮らしに戻りました。ドリアンという名のハリケーンを経験したところです。ドリアンはアメリカのフロリダ州から移動してきて、先週の土曜日にカナダのノバスコシア州にやってきました。最低三日間の準備をするよう注意報が出ていました。食物、水、調理具やロウソクの準備をしました。これだけ聞くと、キャンプの準備のようですね。実際キャンプなのですが、恐怖も混ざっているキャンプと言った感じです。
日本では自然災害をいくつか経験した事はありますが、ハリケーンは今回が初めてです。ずっと煩い飛行機の中にいるような感覚でした。ノバスコシア州では、今回のハリケーンで亡くなった方はいないと聞いています。しかし、2、3日間電気が止まりました。今も尚不自由な暮らしを強いられている方もいるようです。インターネットは今も不調です。
以前から、主人と少しずつオフグリッドの生活をする計画を立てていました。今回のハリケーンで、更に確信しました。最近、食用植物や庭のある小さな家に引っ越したばかりですので、その事も少しずつ書けたらと思っています。
台風や自然災害の被害にあっている国々がたくさんあります。みなさん無事でありますように。
