Hey everyone! I've been grinding hard on finishing this project. (I'm not sure why since it's not due anytime soon... I guess at this point I'm just having fun owo) Although I plan to add some things still, this might be how the final renditions would look like!
Well, the image above is just me fooling around Photoshop >u< I still don't know how to add skies aside from preset HDRIs that can be downloaded online...
Here's what the diorama looks like so far! Seeing how my previous diorama looked like, I felt like it was so dull and lacking in colors. Now, I really like dull pieces, pieces that make you feel dread but I also felt like this piece could use some splash of colors.
So, I upped the vibrancy on the ground and made it a bit redder. I was satisfied with how the colors are jumpier but I felt like it was a bit too... monochromatic... That's when I decided to add sakura blossoms! To contrast the 'dullness' of the piece because sakura blossoms always seem to convey happy feelings :>
Originally, I really was going for a 'dull' look because it's supposed to be a collapsing world and all that. But once I added the sakura blossoms, it felt more peaceful than dreadful. I had nothing against that so I thought, why not >u< Peaceful, ancient temple-like look works for me too!
I'm most especially proud of how the grass turned out! I had very little experience with 3D and most of the things I did were just more complex versions of what I tried before. Working with the grass required me to learn how to generate particles and stuff and it actually went pretty ok owo
The grass was originally lighter but when I was fooling around the settings of the grass, I made it really really dark which caught me off guard. I panicked because I didn't know what I did but then I thought... hey, that's actually pretty good... so I made it a bit darker >u< I really like working without a definite plan in mind. It's fun!
Another cool idea I had was adding emission on the rim of the portal! Originally, I wasn't going to because the portal was supposed to be broken. But it looked so much cooler with the lights on so I decided to add them hehe
At this point, I've completely changed the story that I was going for originally. I guess I'm more of an artist than a writer. I like telling my stories through art rather than illustrating my stories with my art? If that makes any sense >u<
I fooled around the camera settings on this one :> 3D is funnnn
This might be the final version because the stuff I plan on adding might be too much for me and my laptop already owo
Hopefully, I get to make it work!
