Abraham Lincoln, this man was the sixteenth president in the US, maybe someone does not know. This is not a joke, because some people hearing the name Lincoln think about the car right away. But now it's not about that.

In the city of Springfield, there is the garden of Abraham Lincoln, this garden is grown and built, so to speak, in memory of the president who freed America from slavery. It was founded in 1936 by Harriet Knudson. This woman was engaged in the discovery and establishment of a center for the study of nature. This garden is a kind of monument to Abraham Lincoln. Here grow plants of different species, but mostly grow those species that grew in those cities where Abraham Lincoln lived.

In the 1930s, when the creation of this memorial garden was planned, a plot of land along the lake was taken away in the town of Springfield, and construction of a project sponsored by Illinois began. Over this garden worked the famous landscape designer Jens Jenson. Subsequently, the garden of Abraham Lincoln became a historic site and even included the National Register.

In this garden there are many places for rest and contemplation of the beautiful, here there are circular benches that are intertwined in such a way that they form eight rings. There are also paths, bushes, trees and, of course, many interesting flowers. In winter, some bushes can be seen berries, in the spring flowers bloom, as there are many songbirds and even deer live there.

But, and in the garden itself there is also a memorial to Abraham Lincoln. It is rumored that many people use the bronze nose of Abraham to attract luck to their lives, on the monument of this outstanding man.
