No, Steemit is also not the same as Facebook. I think people just want out of Facebook more and more since also non-techies are finding out that that company is making profit on their data.

The Steem blockchain is a whole other story. We've got so much apps nowadays.

Dsound (soundcloud)
Dtube (youtube)
Musing (dunno :)
etc
etc

I think if they can develop mature applications furter on the Steem blockchain the market can be 100B plus!
