Consider again three arbitrary numbers a, b, c, such that

a+b = c

Then:
(3a-2a)+(3b-2b) = (3c-2c)

Reorganize and simplify:
3a+3b-3c = 2a+2b-2c
3(a+b-c) = 2(a+b-c)
3 = 2

QED.
Note that you may use the same scheme to prove x+1=x for any x.
