Yeah, @sanderjansenart. I'm with you. It's not all bleak, though. Sometimes I find comfort in hearing the ages certain writers began their careers. A surprising number of authors attempted their first novels in their 40's. You've got to make that path happen and sometimes it's a scary endeavor.
