Sun Thursday Contest #33 - Lamai Sunsets, Koh Samui Island.
I have still so much to tell you about our superb, amazing holiday on Koh Samui Island we spend one whole month on this paradise island and apart from the awesome foods and the kind friendly hospitality from the Thai people the other thing we enjoy immensely were the numerous beaches and spectacular sunsets and sunrises everyday we were on this island.
In the one month we spend on this paradise island we didn't stay in just the one resort we moved to five different resorts around the island we wanted to get the feel and enjoy the different beaches and atmosphere of other areas on the island which to say the people remained friendly and the beaches and views just kept getting better.
On this occasion we decided to move to a resort on the mountain side in the town of Lamai now Lamai Beach is about 20km from it's sister beach in Chaweng town were we had moved from they say that Lamai town in Koh Samui, is the second largest resort area after Chaweng town, nice thing we found about Lamai town, that it was much cheaper and Lamai beach was a much longer stretch of white sand with cheaper accommodation and the views from our room were just spectacular looking over the Gulf of Thailand across to Koh Phangan Island.
We spend 4 days in this resort and everyday was one sunset after another all with different textures of beautiful colors and that hotel construction down below by the Lamai beach some how added more character to the sunsets. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Koh Samui Island do consider staying in Lamai town or maybe just visit Lamai town it's a quieter and less bustling older town but has everything you need lots of restaurants to choose from for all nationality foods and many interesting tourist sites and old temples to see including a couple of spectacular look out points from the top of the mountains the main lookout in Lamai, there is a cable car that will take you up high into the mountain top with very rewarding views.
