The one day we had a rain spider in the house and I totally freaked out (That wasn't meant to rhyme). I've heard that they're not poisonous, but that didn't stop my heart from jetting. They are actually very common in South Africa, but I don't like them. They usually come out after or during the rain. Heck they sometimes come out when there's a drought too.
This one was hanging out in my brother's room. I had to get my camera out. Then the family crowded and decided to keep the damn thing. A democratic decision was taken and I couldn't believe that we were actually going to place it in the old hamster's box. My mother being a teacher took it to school for the little children to learn and make observations. My teacher never done that for us.
Eventually everyone came to their sense and concluded that we should release the spider. I thought the veld was a good place, but believe it or not it was set free in our garden... The Tarantula look just gives me the hibbie jibbies. Just looking at it through my camera's LCD gets me shook.
