The drifter
a Foreign drifter isolated by pride
silently vanishing in the midst the riot
Forever fighting the cause of its fear
inside the barrel hides the unknown tears
Broken by burdens of the inner-war
burning the innocence down to its core
Deceptive lies to cover up evil disguise
free me from the frontline where demons arise
Untold stories from behind a mask
guided by the blind to complete the task
Humanly terrified and hiding away
keeping watch until He shows us the way

This poem is written from the place where, just living life, can feel like you are fighting in the frontlines of a gruesome war. Not just only can it sometimes feel like you are fighting a war, but you are also there, taking on fire from the enemy, with no backup at all. Like a drifter from a foreign land who does not belong.
Trying to win the unseen war, all by yourself, will definitely not happen. As humans we are allowed to feel terrified about the situation we find ourselves in. So keeping quite and taking cover, waiting on God to send in the reinforcements is the best thing you can do. He will come through, but on perfect Hollywood action movie timing! Just like always.
