Going back west
Going through some old photos of mine I came across this photo I took sometime last year when we visited the little fishing village Velddrif on the west coast of South Africa.
Velddrif lies on the Northern Shores of the beautiful Berg River. The fish you see strung next to the water is called harders, and are netted in the Berg Rivier with little boats, salted, then hanged under reed shelters to be dried.
When the fish are dried it’s called bokkoms and are sold as a real west coast delicacy.

This town is definitely a must see if you ever find yourself on the West Coast of South Africa. Don’t forget to go and try their famous bokkoms!
