Components
The steemplus extension which allows users give 1up votes on approved utopian contributions is amazing. Personally I have received the upvote from the curation trail thanks to fans out there that love my work.
With this extension users have a maximum limit of 10 1up votes per day which they can give out to different users which is not a bad idea because without the limits there will be abuse of this function, thus this will make users spend their votes very wisely. However wisdom can't always overcome certain mistakes. Giving 1up votes is irrevocable meaning that as soon as I click on the 1up icon on a post, 1 vote has already been spent and never to return until next day. Nothing is 100% efficient even humans, meaning we can make mistakes and can mistakenly give out 1up vote unintentionally. This mistake could be a correctable one as the user could have the option of revoking the 1up vote he unintentionally gave out.
Proposal
I'm proposing that users should be able to revoke 1up votes given, intentionally or not.
The 1up vote is not registered on the steem blockchain whereby upvoting or down voting affects the blockchain, but only places the user on a queue to receive an upvote from the curation trail therfore there wouldn't be much hitch revoking a 1up vote.
Mockups / Examples
This the the 1up icon only available for PC users who have the steemplus extension installed in their browser.
This is the website that shows the queue of users that have gotten 1up votes from other users and waiting to receive an upvote from 1up curation trail.
The suggested revoking function can be done by double clicking the 1up icon or the creation of button an arrow facing down to mean removal of vote.
Benefits
- users can now revoke unintentionally given 1up votes and reclaim their votes shares
