The Microsoft Quantum Development Kit includes the Q # programming language, a simulator of a quantum computer capable of simulating 30 logical qubits, as well as a set of documentation, libraries and sample programs. It is assumed that all these tools will help developers better understand the complex science of quantum computing.
Using the simulator, developers will be able to test the programs and debug the code on existing conventional computers. Microsoft also offers a more powerful quantum computer simulator that contains more than 40 logical qubits. But it is only available in the Azure cloud service. The new set is integrated into the toolkit of developers of Microsoft Visual Studio, due to which many of its aspects will be already familiar to specialists.
