Yooooo, it is finally here.

21 of June is marked as "Go Skateboarding Day" in every skaters calendar and most of us are waiting for this day to go out, skate and have fun with our homies all day long!

About "Go Skateboarding Day"

GSD was established back in 2004 by the "International Association of Skateboard Companies" and it's been a crazy day since then for all skaters around the globe.

We meet at the streets, ride our boards in huge groups and show people that skaters have the same rights to skate the streets as any human person has to walk them.
In my eyes, "Go Skateboarding Day" is a peacefull and creative "protest".

It's also worth mentioning that there is a big chunk of skaters who do not like GSD 'cause they believe that it's just a make-money trick by "International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC)". I can't disagree but since I am always on the lookout for an excuse to just skate I celebrate "Go Skateboarding Day" my way!

There are numerous events taking place all around the globe today.
I was gonna travel to Thessaloniki,GR and take part in an event local skaters organized there but unfortunately my back still hurts and it's not worth the struggle to drive 3 hours and not be able to skate.

What are your plans for today?

Canceling my trip does not mean that I will not celebrate this day.
Me and the homies will meet at the streets of Ioannina city, skate some spots, drink some beers and above all have fun!

I was also thinking of doing a small Contest-Giveaway for the youngsters later at the local skatepark.
I love motivating young skaters and offering them prizes for landing tricks is the key to boost their confidence.

You should check out the event I organized at the local skatepark a year ago when we were still back on Steem and we used to call our Skateboarding community @steemskate.
It was the first ever Steemskate contest organized in the globe and it was HUGE and I just saw that the video is currently sitting on 637 views! WOW!
