Hello everyone.

If you've been keeping an eye on my #Hive blog then you know how much I love travelling . I am a curious person so I like to explore every inch of the places I visit, like I did at my 1 week trip to Ithaca Island.

This time I'll take you to Lefkada island and more specifically at the city of Lefkas, the biggest village of the island. I couldn't stay for long 'cause I had to return back to my hometown but I did shoot some sweet photos from various beautiful and old churches around the city!

The Church of Pantokrator

The Church of Pantokrator is located next to the central quare of Lefkas city. It was build in 1700 and it is one of the most historic temples of the island.
It was build by Stavros and Valaoritis, 2 well-known families on the island and a lot of their family members are burried at this temple's garden

The Church of Agios Nikolaos

This church is also located at the center of Lefkas city and more specificaly across the Zampelis mansion.
It was built back in 1687 but it was re-constructed to it's final (and today's) state in 1830.

We passed through this beautiful and pictursque alley on our way to the next and last temple

Church of Isodia Theotokou

This one is located at the eastern side of Lefkas city center and it is actually a 2 minutes walk from The Church of Pantokrator I showed you guys above.
It was build in 1720 and it is the trademark of Lefkadian Architecture.

The Church of Isodia Theotokou is home to many unique icons from famous iconographers like Roussos, Devaris, Ourania Chatzi and many more.
The doors were closed so me and @illusivelf missed the chance of seeing these famous icons with our eyes.
Well, next time

I am not a religious person but no one can deny that churches and temples are magnificent works of art and should be admired and preserved.

I wish I could have shot more photos my friends but unfortunatelly my phone died from battery pretty early.
