Book Recommendation:
Without Merit By Colleen Hoover
I was convinced by one of my good friends that I should read Colleen Hoover's books because she's a good writer and her books must be included to the must-read books. And so, I was intrigued and started reading her books on the month of February this year. I already read 11 of them including Without Merit.
Without Merit is a story about a teenage girl named Merit who is fond of collecting trophies whether through buying it or stealing it. She came from a family whom she dubbed as 'not a normal family.'
She was so sick of what is happening around her. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer who keep herself locked up in the four corners of their basement after she survived; her father pregnated her mother's nurse while her mother was under treatment of which the nurse was chosen even though her mom survived 'cancer'; her identical twin sister keeps on falling in love to terminally ill guys; her big brother tried to molested her when they were still kids; and lastly, they are all living on a church whom her atheist father bought.
Then one day, her chaotic life became more chaotic when she met two guys in a row. One is a guy whom she met at the antique store who happened to be with her sister and the other one is her stepmother's stepbrother whom she met at the pet store.
These two play a big role in her life: acceptance and forgiveness.
All the twist and revelation are very unexpected, typical Colleen Hoover.
And with that, Without Merit is now on my favorite list.
