The highlight of the 2nd day of my 2026 US Road Trip was Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado. Imagine a giant sandbox located at foothills of mountains rising up to 4k m a.s.l. You 3 layers of the scenery - closest is dirty-yellow grass of San Luis valley, in the center we can see the Great Sand Dunes and high Sangre de Cristo mountains range frames the horizon.
