KiwiThinker's log, Coordinated Stardate 3439.0622.
This clock has a proper name now.
It was just Stardate. It had a problem. People hear it and think TNG. Five digits, a season code, a decimal that means "sometime today, roughly." Fine for Picard. Useless if you want to know whether two events happened at the same instant.
TNG stardates were a writing tool. They were never a clock. You cannot take 41153.7 and get a real minute back out. The show did not need you to.
This one is a clock.
Coordinated Stardate, CSD, is a single count from a fixed epoch. No Auckland. No London. No time zones. Same number wherever you stand. Earth UTC and Mars MTC sit under it as local views, not competing clocks.
That is the whole point of the rename. Coordinated, like UTC and MTC. One real time.
Coordinated Stardate can be used by everyone on the site, from apps with REST calls, or even click and add to your calendar.
The solar system now has a time that works anywhere.
