Definitivamente si hay algo que resulta ser mi debilidad en historia de series, películas y libros, es el romance de época, quizás ese sea el motivo por el cual mi libro favorito sea Orgullo y Prejuicio y entre mis series favoritas está justamente Bridgerton. Debo confesar que cuando se anunció ésta serie yo no estaba del todo convencida de que fuese una buena idea, ya ha pasado en otras historias que cuando se producen precuelas o pequeñas historias aisladas de la trama principal, estás terminan siendo un fracaso, no obstante cuando empezaron a lanzar contenido promocional y salió el primer tráiler me animé a verla, y debo anticipar que fue una excelente decisión, así que el día de hoy hablaremos sobre mis opiniones acerca de ésta historia del mundo de Bridgerton 💕.
Definitely if there is something that happens to be my weakness in history series, movies and books, is the period romance, maybe that's why my favourite book is Pride and Prejudice and among my favourite series is just Bridgerton. I must confess that when this series was announced I was not entirely convinced that it was a good idea, it has already happened in other stories that when prequels or small stories isolated from the main plot are produced, they end up being a failure, however when they began to release promotional content and the first trailer came out I was encouraged to see it, and I must anticipate that it was an excellent decision, so today we will talk about my opinions about this story of the world of Bridgerton 💕.
Estrenada el 4 de Mayo del 2023 para la plataforma de streaming Netflix, ésta historia fue escrita por Julia Quinn y Shonda Rhimes, quién además se encuentra en la parte de producción de la misma. Éste drama histórico se centra en la historia de amor de la reina Charlotte (India Amarteifio/Golda Rosheuvel) y el Rey George III (Corey Mylchreest/James Fleet), quienes se conocen por primera vez el mismo día de su boda, la cual ya había sido previamente acordada, y que debido a ésto deberán enfrentar un particular e incómodo inicio matrimonial, Charlotte se verá expuesta al escrutinio principalmente de la madre de George, quien básicamente le exige cumplir con los deberes que su actual puesto le requiere, entre ellos extender el linaje real del cual ahora George es la cabeza, aunque este con su comportamiento misterioso y temperamental, hará que una joven Charlotte se sienta frustrada.

The historical drama centres on the love story of Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio/Golda Rosheuvel) and King George III (Corey Mylchreest/James Fleet), who meet for the first time on their pre-arranged wedding day and face a particularly awkward start to their marriage, Charlotte will be exposed to scrutiny mainly from George's mother, who basically demands that she fulfil the duties that her current position requires of her, including extending the royal lineage of which George is now the head, although his mysterious and temperamental behaviour will frustrate a young Charlotte.
Comenzaré diciendo que pedazo de serie tan linda y bien hecha, saben que cuando una historia ya sea de película o serie está tan bien trabajada que se nota en cada escena que transcurre, pues a mí me pasó con ésta serie y es que desde el primer momento me atrapó muchísimo y me pareció sumamente linda, una característica de las producciones del mundo de Bridgerton es que cuidan mucho la puesta en escena, al tratarse de la familia real pues te imaginas grandes castillos y cierto lujo, y exactamente estos detalles fueron muy bien cuidados en ésta serie. Hay que tener en cuenta que ésta historia está contada en dos tiempos, el pasado y el presente, la mayor parte de los acontecimientos de la trama transcurren en el pasado, pero es en el presente donde muchos de ellos cobran sentido, y un buen juego de tiempos que hacen, es que la historia comienza en el pasado y acaba en el presente 🥺.
I will start by saying what a beautiful and well made series, you know that when a story, be it a film or a series, is so well crafted that you can see it in every scene that takes place, well it happened to me with this series and from the first moment it caught me and I found it extremely beautiful, a characteristic of the productions of Bridgerton's world is that they take great care of the staging, being about the royal family you imagine big castles and certain luxury, and exactly these details were very well cared for in this series. You have to take into account that this story is told in two tenses, the past and the present, most of the events of the plot take place in the past, but it is in the present where many of them make sense, and a good game of tenses that they do, is that the story begins in the past and ends in the present 🥺.
La historia de amor de nuestros protagonista tiene un inicio bastante peculiar, me pasó que cuando comencé la serie obviamente no pude parar hasta llevarla bastante adelantada (en un solo día vi 5 de capítulos) y cuando mis amigos me decían "George me decepcionó" yo solo les podía decir "espera que la serie avance" porque honestamente él tiene una historia bastante fuerte y en consecuencia ella también. Charlotte de joven no se parece tanto a la Reina Charlotte que conocemos de la historia central de Bridgerton, o al menos así es en el inicio, a medida que transcurren los capítulos nos van presentando su evolución como personaje hasta convertirse un poco en esa Reina que ya conocemos, y algo que sí nos dejan ver desde el comienzo es su soledad, porque sí la mayor parte del tiempo ella está acompañada por una cantidad enorme de personas, pero todas están para atenderla y protegerla y no realmente para acompañarla, así que ver ese contraste con el elemento añadido de una enorme casa, hace que rápidamente te das cuenta cuán sola pudo sentirse a lo largo de la vida, porque debemos recordar (para los que hemos visto Bridgerton) que el Rey tiene cierta condición de salud que lo ha hecho estar fuera de la realidad como todos la conocemos.
The love story of our protagonist has a very peculiar beginning, it happened to me that when I started the series obviously I couldn't stop until I was quite advanced (in one day I saw 5 chapters) and when my friends told me "George disappointed me" I could only tell them "wait for the series to progress" because honestly he has a very strong story and consequently so does she. Charlotte as a young girl is not so much like the Queen Charlotte we know from Bridgerton's central story, or at least she is at the beginning, as the chapters go on we are introduced to her evolution as a character until she becomes a bit like the Queen we already know, and something that we do see from the beginning is her loneliness, because yes most of the time she is accompanied by a huge amount of people, but they are all there to look after her and protect her and not really to accompany her, so to see that contrast with the added element of a huge house, makes you quickly realise how lonely she may have felt throughout life, because we must remember (for those of us who have seen Bridgerton) that the King has a certain health condition that has made him out of touch with reality as we all know it.
Y en éste punto justamente quiero detenerme, porque como estudiante de psicología obviamente me pase toda la serie tratando de saber qué es lo que tiene el Rey George 🤣, finalmente me dí por vencida y busqué su historia real y fue allí cuando supe lo que se presume fue lo que padeció (si quieres saber revisa la historia 😉). Su historia particularmente siento que fue una de las más fuertes, teniendo en cuenta que prácticamente fue sometido a tortura y todo por la búsqueda de una solución a su situación de salud, y añadiendo que ocupaba un cargo de suma importancia y escrutinio, era nada mas y nada menos que el rey de Inglaterra, todo un país dependía de él y cada una de sus decisiones debían ser tomadas en pro de la estabilidad de la corona, era un gran peso para un hombre que no presentaba el mejor estado de salud, y que aún así hiciera su mayor esfuerzo por intentar sobrellevar su situación, fue algo que me pareció muy admirable de él. Además para él, Charlotte siempre fue su reina 🥺💕.
And this is exactly where I want to stop, because as a psychology student I obviously spent the whole series trying to find out what King George has 🤣, finally I gave up and looked up his real story and that's when I found out what it is presumed was what he suffered (if you want to know check the story 😉). His story particularly I feel was one of the strongest, considering that he was practically subjected to torture and all for the search of a solution to his health situation, and adding that he held a position of utmost importance and scrutiny, he was nothing more and nothing less than the king of England, A whole country depended on him and his every decision had to be made for the stability of the crown, it was a great burden for a man who was not in the best of health, and yet to do his utmost to try to cope with his situation was something I found very admirable about him. And for him, Charlotte was always his queen 🥺💕.
A pesar de que la historia se centra principal en el Rey y la Reina, también hay historias secundarias que tienen mucha importancia y que además tuvieron una excelente ejecución, tal es el caso de Lady Danbury, definitivamente la historia de una mujer sumamente fuerte que supo aprovechar cada oportunidad que la vida le fue proporcionando. Dada en compromiso desde que era una niña a un hombre evidentemente mayor que ella, fue educada exclusivamente para agradar y servir a su esposo, y éste nunca la tomo como un ser humano sino como algo que solo estaba ahí a su completa disposición, y aún así ella logró los objetivos que se planteó y cuando finalmente fue libre, entendió que eso era exactamente por lo que ella debía luchar. Yo adoro las historias de amor entre dos personas y me encanta que al final queden juntas, pero también sé aceptar y disfrutar cuando un personaje que claramente debe quedar sin pareja, efectivamente queda sin pareja, y aunque ésto no sé si es spoiler o no, personalmente fuí demasiado feliz cuando finalmente aceptó que su bienestar estaría justamente allí, sin un nuevo esposo.
Although the main focus of the story is on the King and Queen, there are also secondary stories that are very important and excellently executed, such is the case of Lady Danbury, definitely the story of a very strong woman who knew how to take advantage of every opportunity that life gave her. Given in betrothal since she was a child to a man evidently older than her, she was educated exclusively to please and serve her husband, and he never took her as a human being but as something that was only there at his complete disposal, and yet she achieved the goals she set for herself and when she was finally free, she understood that that was exactly what she should fight for. I love love stories of love between two people and I love that in the end they stay together, but I also know how to accept and enjoy when a character who clearly should be left without a partner is indeed left without a partner, and although I don't know if this is a spoiler or not, personally I was too happy when she finally accepted that her wellbeing would be right there, without a new husband.
