Depression can be really debilitating, you might feel drained all the time or find yourself struggling while doing even the simplest tasks. It's not that you don't want to do anything, it's that you just can't gather enough energy to get past this disabling feeling. Well, guess what there's a good news(finally), it is possible to get out of this situation.

I have faced depression for a long long time in my life, I was diagnosed with depression when I was much younger, before that I saw a friend of mine being depressed for very many years, point being I know depression even before I ever had it. This understanding of depression helped me a lot, whenever I had darker thoughts I knew it wasn't me or anybody else but it was just the depression. I might post a full story at some point in the future but for now I just want to share a few things to get you moving and kicking.

Here's what worked for me, I gave my depression a color(I gave saw it as a mixture of gray and brown) I saw it as something tangible and took it's responsibility and promised myself "even though I have depression but it's okay it's not permanent, it comes and it goes like a wave in the ocean, just like happiness and other good feelings so why give something much power that is not even permanent?".

I got in touch with a professional we are going to need one, an experienced professional to help us out and get better. It could be anybody psychologist, psychotherapist, psychiatrist or even some other alternative professional.

Now comes the fun part and I want you to try it now(right now, you don't have to try too hard), drink a glass of water and go out on a walk. People often says "you need fresh air" and it feels so annoying(I know that feeling trust me) but guess what they're wrong, you don't need to go out because you need fresh air you need to go out because in the room you are sitting it's full of stale air as you're spending all your time in it, we need more than just oxygen to stay alive.
Think of it as the room you are sitting in right now is full of certain amount of air but when you are sitting in the air you are acting as a air processor and processing all the air, human body creates free radicals and other such stuff when we breathe out we exhale all those stuff along with the air that we push out of the lungs, then we have mold, recently a few new researches are coming to the surface showing household mold as a contributing factor to the depression, I always had some hidden molds in the houses I used to live when I was young. Just spend some time outside in nature you will feel a lot better it's a guarantee.

Make a schedule for just 1 day, you don't have to make a schedule for a week or a month and you don't have to force yourself into doing it everyday. All you need to do is. do it for just 1 day that's all. You don't have to follow it absolutely as it was written and you don't have to follow everything in it, skip things that you can't deal with just focus on the things that you can do easily
Once you followed a few things don't count the things that you didn't follow just count the ones you did(even partially) at the end of the day enjoy your achievements. After a day or two make a new schedule and repeat.

Find that old skateboard or that bike or even that one worn out basketball that you used to play with when you were just a kid and then find a place where you can comfortably play with it and then do so everyday, don't get into the details just do it.

Make a journal and start witting and when you're done witting it all, burn those pages and release those thoughts and promise yourself that you have already dealt with them you don't have to deal with one though more than once because you are going to utilize your time and energy with better things.

Limit or avoid the intake of caffeine and alcohol and instead of it do some research on herbal teas, smoothies and juices for a while surprise your body and mind.

These are a few things I practiced everyday as at some point in some very dark times. Times when I couldn't even remember do the basic things such as taking a shower, brushing teeth, drinking water(at all for weeks and months), didn't go out of my house for months and my sleep pattern was disturbed so I forced myself into doing these things and trust me it really helped.

Once you start feeling better write down things that worked for you(in a journal or something) and start trying new things even when at first it all seems impossible, with the passage of time you will realize you've done a lot of things and it will motivate you even further, life is full of colors it doesn't have to be black and white anymore

I am not 100% out of the depression even to this day, let's face it this is how life works but things do change for good, things do get better, I was diagnosed with major depression last year around this time and I decided to take things in my hands, I didn't take any medications(Which I do not recommend, if your doctor want you to take them, take them) but look at me now I am sharing my experience with you guys and I am feeling joy and proud while witting this post and I believe everybody can do this all we need is a little motivation and a little direction.

I will write some posts like this , hope you enjoyed my post. If you did please upvote and follow me, feel free to ask anything in comments, see you guys in my next post.
