Hello guys, dear fellow gamers, I hope you’re all having a beautiful day so far and I’m happy to be to share little piece of my world with you guys.
One thing I find interesting about gaming is that the game doesn’t always care how badly you want to win, especially when it is a competitive gaming or when you’re not the only one in the space… thats why I love gaming anyways!
For example you can be confident and still lose, you don’t just expect to win a game just because you are confident enough, it doesn’t work that way….. well I am not saying confidence is a bad thing but sometimes it kills when it’s not properly channeled.
I had an experience few nights ago, when I won the first 2 football games and I thought it was gonna continue like that and then over confidence set in and guess what?…. I lost more matches than i won, such that my 2 wins meant nothing anymore.
You can have the best equipment and still make a stupid decision, in a way that you will realize your equipment doesn’t matter but the way you at which u made use of them.
You can lose five times and then you suddenly understand what you were doing it wrong, and that is probably one of the reasons I enjoy gaming… which is beyond just the entertainment.
Games give you immediate consequences… you make a decision something happens, could be good or bad. For example: You take the wrong route, instantly you’ll get punished.
Sometimes you might feel too bold and rush an opponent then you get eliminated.
The more you play the more familiar you become with the controls, mechanics, and situations that likely comes your way.
But it’s not just about playing for hours…. it’s about practicing with purpose… When you discover a particular mechanics and you practice the same mechanic over and over, you’ll eventually become better at it.
And sometimes you don’t even realize you are learning because you are having fun. I believe that is something we can actually take outside gaming…. In real life lot of people are afraid of being beginner, we mostly want to enter a new skill and looking good at it already which is not how life really works but gamers don’t usually think that way because when you start a new game, you were expected to be confused, to lose, to make stupid mistakes not just getting into the game and achieving landmarks and victories instantly.
Gaming is all about learning and so is life, when you begin new games you have to learn the map, you learn the controls, you figure out what works sometimes you even have to watch other players online or in person and by so doing you slowly become better.
Now imagine approaching real life with the same mentality….. most people don’t wanna learn!!! All they have is pride! Which kills the spirit of knowledge and skill acquisition.
If you have this mindset of a gamer, starting a business would become experimentation instead of trying to look perfect and we learn from experience, that’s how Elon and many prominent figures became successful or who they are.
Also, learning a new skill with this mindset would become practice instead of self judgment, living such life for some people is a dream! Even failure would feel different because losing one round would not mean the entire game is over and maybe that is one of the most underrated things about gaming, It teaches you that losing information is not the same thing as losing everything and sometimes a loss simply gives you information for the next attempt.
That is also why I think gaming communities on #Hive can be more than places where people simply post screenshots or talk about the games they play I have observed that the Hive Gaming community currently has thousands of subscribers and actively features different kinds of gaming content, including game progress, reviews and community activities.
