After a long and wonderful day I really wanted some roasted chicory root mock coffee.....but we were fresh out. So...just before dark I ran out to harvest some. Check out these roots! The longest being 18". Gotta love BTE gardening (Back To Eden aka No Dig or Lasagna Layering - more info about that on our FB page here https://www.facebook.com/notes/kindred-acres/bte-no-dig-garden-style/2241477949406013/ ).
Using the BTE method softens the soil making it nice and easy for deep roots to grow. These nice long chicory roots will make a wonderful roasted beverage. I can't wait to enjoy them.
Our chicory plants are super happy and have been super productive. If you are in need of seeds to grow your own, check out our Etsy shop (link below)!
