Hey guys!
I’m actually quite nervous because this is my very first upload on Dtube, and although I’ve heard and read a lot about this incredible platform, I’ve been too scared to put myself out there. But now I’m like, what the heck, it’s now or never. I’m travelling at the moment, and it’s really given me the confidence and strength to try and do things I’ve never done before. I have always dreamt of travelling the world, to connect and learn about different cultures and people and sharing a piece of my life and experiences to the online community. It’s essential that we explore beyond the back of our hands, and start shaking hands with worlds we’ve never met before.
I’ll be on the road for about 3 ½ weeks, travelling around Vietnam, from the north and slowly making my way to the south. This is a very important trip for me, not only because I am Vietnamese and very proud of my cultural heritage but also because this is my very first trip by myself (without family). I’m 23 years old, turning 24 very soon, and I come from a pretty strict Asian family (perhaps you can relate), so travelling alone or with your boyfriend is not always allowed. But I’ve graduated uni and I’ve been with my partner for 5 years now, so I thought it was time to do what I’ve always wanted to do and I’m very happy that my parents supported me. Even though, we’re straight out of uni and we’re not trying to land full time jobs straight away, this may make us unemployable in the future, but it’s a risk we’r willing to take. In a world where the day begins with an alarm and ends when you clock out, you forget that all you need is a compass to find your way.
