Sometimes I wonder what life we would have now, if our original parents (Adam and Eve) had totally obeyed God. Surely, we would still have met in the garden of Eden, and there was no death, sickness, war, hunger, misery or ruin. Life totally in happiness.
If Adam and Eve had maintained their covenant of obedience to God, the evil one would not have made his.
Life at this time would be different and relationships between human beings, as God had planned. However, the reality is that we sin and do not reach the glory of God, and focus our hopes on Christ, who will save what was lost.
Something similar happened when God brought the people of Israel out of Egypt and led him through the desert, until they reached the place where they were to receive the tables of the law that would govern the moral and spiritual life of God's people. However, when Moses took forty days, the people despaired and thought that Moses had died, it was so much despair that they forced Aaron to make them a golden calf to worship. Aaron already had the great responsibility of being the priest chosen by God to guide the spiritual life of the people, however, in the midst of so many pressures, Aaron agreed with the request of the people and made the golden calf.
This turned out the same as the sin of Adam and Eve. Disobedience brought judgment, and because people were revealed in the desert for asking for a golden calf to worship, God exterminated three thousand Hebrews (Ex 32:28).
Our relationship with God is marked with fidelity, both from God and from us.
This behavior of Aaron must remind us that God demands total obedience and that we should not access any temptation that leads us to sin.
