### English ______ # A sunset on the coast of Vung Tau, Vietnam _______ Sunset brings a cool breeze every afternoon in Vung Tau. I'm glad to know that it's a constant, given the days I've been here, and not just a fluke on any given day. The days are hot, dawn breaks at 5:59 a.m., and the sun sets at 5:30 p.m. When I saw this, I thought it wasn't fair to have arrived at a destination with so few hours of sunshine. I thought, “I might as well have stayed in Spain”... and I realized I should keep quiet. I understood that comparing every place I am in the present with some other place is not only unnecessary, but it also distances me from the beauty of this moment and from gratitude: **the gateway to all that is good in life**.

Southeast Asia is slowly bringing calm to my completely uncertain “now,” but above all, it is making me see how essential it is to stop planning so much, because nothing in life is guaranteed. Although I knew I was an adult woman, this trip is making me embody that role. I am seeing that in many ways, it was more my unheard inner child who wanted to speak and act, and today I think that for the first time, I see myself as an adult woman, much more mature, much more aware of the path I have traveled. I have much more to reflect on in this regard and could clearly share more about it, but my ideas are not yet very clear. Added to this is the fact that I don't know how far I want to open up about this subject; perhaps I prefer to keep it private, for the sacredness within me.

Vung Tau, Vietnam, reminded me that even in the roughest seas, you can find that key moment of pause to regain your calm and sanity. To let your thoughts settle, which, when agitated, do nothing but take control, without even knowing how to take the helm of life. It is not a good idea to trust your thoughts when anxiety has taken over your mind and body. You have to stop.

A few hours ago, I saw this sunset. It's been a long time since I've shared anything in real time, but today I felt the desire and the need to do so. This sunset is the very pause of this city. The people in the photos look as spontaneous and pure as they are in real life. There is no malice, no intrusion, no mistreatment. They speak almost no English, but their kind gestures are clear and enough to understand. In its silence, Vung Tau communicates from its core to the air that whispers in your ear.

I leave you with these images where the sky blue tones, almost violet, are beautiful. People were putting fish freshly caught from the sea, from their nets and rods, into bags. Some kids were taking pictures, others, like me, were recording the scene on our phones: pure culture. A few minutes earlier, a woman and her daughter had approached me so that I could exchange a few words in English with the girl. The mother is a history teacher named Hue. She invited me to her house for lunch next week.
