It's #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a day of music hosted by @ablaze where he asks us to pick and talk about three songs that are on our minds.
I decided for this one to do something a little bit different and pick a few live recordings, two were recorded by me, and the last one is my own band, recorded live by someone in the crowd.
#TTT is a lot of fun, and a great chance to listen to and read about the songs that are on the community's minds, and I have been introduced to some cool songs through it! Anyway, onward with the music.
SLAYER - Relentless - Opening Their Farewell Tour In The 3Arena
My partner bought us tickets to see them on my birthday back in 2018. Waiting from August to the first of November was tough, but I managed to get through it haha the night before was Halloween and we went out for a few drinks and woke up on the day of the gig fairly hungover.
The lineup was Obituary opening the gig, then Lamb of God, who I wanted to see for years, but never got a chance, then Anthrax, and then obviously headlining the show was Slayer. This was one of the best openers of a gig I have ever seen.
It was a great night, only downside was when we got outside to the bus stop afterward we were waiting for the bus and it came along and drove right past us, which was a bit of a dampener considering it was the last bus of the night. So we had to get a dart to Bray and organise a pickup.
Sleaford Mods - Stick In A Five And Go - Live In The Academy
This night was great, it was the first time we all headed up to see them play. They played the night before we were due to play in Fibbers and the whole band went up to this, but wouldn't you know it, we missed our bus home and were stranded in Dublin.
Luckily some friends put us up for the night, we were left with the problem though of not having our instruments with us for the next nights gig. We were saved though, as Paranoid Visions lent us their gear to use which was handy considering we didn't need to head back home.
It was a lot of fun, and the next night I actually ended up staying there again as some friends of mine had a hotel room and were kind enough to let me stay with them.
Dangerous Dave and the Side Effects - I'm Addicted - Live in the Button Factory
Here's a shameless self-plug. This video was taken from our gig supporting Paranoid Visions, playing alongside Subhumans, Meryl Streek, and The Nilz.
The set went down really well, and all the bands who performed this night were amazing, it was a great one to see out 2022 and we were fairly tight at it. The video was taken by someone in the crowd and we were delighted that someone captured one of our songs.
It was definitely a night to remember, but sadly, I think I've forgotten some of it haha
